Alert: Enslavers of Black People Sitting on the U.N. Human Rights Council

Have you heard? There are actual slave owners sitting on the U.N.’s “Human Rights” Council.

Nobody reported on this except the U.N. itself, but on October 17, 2019, the council held an election for its 2020 country roster. Among the many countries elected was Mauritania, in northwest Africa.

In Mauritania, blacks are the wholly owned property of their Arab masters. They are inheritable property, passed down from father to son like furniture.

As a result of Western pressure, slavery has been banned five times since Mauritania’s independence from France in 1960, but, not surprisingly, this legislation has had almost no effect.

Although Mauritania is a 100% Muslim country, and Islam theoretically forbids the enslavement of one Muslim by another, anti-black racism supersedes this doctrinal technicality. Mauritania is also an apartheid state. The roughly 30% light-skinned Arab-Berber minority rules over the 70% black majority with almost complete political power, leaving the black population, including free people, marginalized and impoverished.

In 2011, a CNN investigation estimated that between 340,000 and 680,000 black men, women, and children are still owned as chattel by Arab masters. This comes to roughly 10% to 20% of a total population of 3.4 million.

Slaves are also subjected to terrible physical abuse and torture if they displease their masters.

Therefore, why is this country — as well as other countries in which modern-day black slavery is rife, such as Libya and Sudan — on an internal council supposedly to watch over human rights?

Because the civilized nations of the West idiotically assumed that putting cruel, tyrannical countries in the same body as enlightened ones would somehow make those despotic societies “more like us.” Nothing of the kind happened. Instead, we have become more like “them,” as the free nations’ elites turn a blind eye to human bondage, simply because the involvement of Arabs and Islam make it “politically incorrect.”
